Roddy has two passions in life: dentistry & sport! With extensive experience and technical knowledge, having been in the business for the past 40 years, he opened Sunshine Dental in 2007. He studied for an advanced diploma in Toronto, Canada before qualifying through the Royal College of Surgeons as a Clinical Dental Technician. Roddy prides himself in delivering truly exceptional standards of craftsmanship to restore smiles. When not dedicating his care and attention to his patients, you will find him playing golf or watching rugby, and coaching at Long Eaton Rugby Club.
Vishal joined our team in January 2015 having worked within the Nottinghamshire area since qualifying from the University of Prague in 2009. He has an informative and relaxing chair side manner providing a reassuring, comfortable, calming environment putting patients at ease with their treatment. He strongly believes that education and prevention is the best way to achieve good oral health. Outside of dentistry, he is a keen sports man with special interests in cricket and football.
Ash has been a great addition to our team, qualifying in 1998 from Glasgow. After qualifying, Ash joined the British Army in 2001 and began Officer Training at Sandhurst. His military career spanned 14 years and included Operational commitments in many countries.
After leaving the army, Ash has then gone on to complete a MSc from the University of London in 2007 as well as a smile design course at the Prof Paul Tipton Academy in Manchester. Ash is also a provider of Invisalign adult orthodontics.
Ash has a wonderful, caring and friendly approach which puts patients at ease, and is committed to improving patients’ oral health.
When not at work, Ash enjoys spending time with his family, walking, and supporting Arsenal Football club.
Robert Cope is our implant surgeon and has over 25 years’ experience qualifying from Birmingham dental hospital in 1992. He has worked in the oral surgery department and has gained a certificate in restorative dentistry in 1998. He uses only the finest dental implants for reliability and works closely with Roddy, our clinical dental technician, to produce beautiful, strong, natural-looking teeth. We find that with extensive training and experience, coupled with the use of a proven implant system and advanced laboratory techniques, we produce consistently great results.
Gemma joined the practice in 2017, having moved from Mansfield, and has been a great addition to our team. Gemma has been a dental nurse for over 20 years and her role within the practice is to ensure you feel at ease and comfortable from the minute you walk into the practice. With her professional manner, she assists our clinicians in all aspect of patient care and her aim is to make sure you feel relaxed making your journey here at Sunshine dental a pleasant experience.
In her spare time, Gemma is a keen fitness enthusiast, training 5 times a week.
Paige joined us in 2021, having qualified in 2020, and plays a vital role in supporting the clinicians to ensure all patients are looked after during their visit to us. She enjoys building good relationships with new and existing patients with her empathetic yet bubbly personality, contributing to the professional, warm and caring atmosphere that we aim to promote.
When not at work, Paige enjoys holidaying, especially in Norfolk with her sausage dog Darla, and socialising with friends and family.
Sam began her journey in dentistry in 2004, completing the NEBDN dental nursing exam. Sam also qualified as a sedation nurse and as an oral health educator, later undertaking a level 3 management diploma. Joining us in 2022, Sam enjoys building a good rapport with patients and providing excellent patient care.
In her spare time, when not chasing her toddler, Sam enjoys craft work, exercise classes, and spending time with her family and friends.
Hayley is an experienced nurse who excels in reassuring patients, especially during treatments. She is a caring, compassionate and supportive and likes to ensure patients have a pleasurable experience when visiting us. Her spare time is spent looking after her young family and socialising with friends
Jan is a Director and front of house manager of Sunshine Dental and has a background in customer service management. She has been instrumental in setting up the practice and you will be greeted with her friendly caring attitude and calm manner ensuring your visit to us is relaxing and enjoyable. Outside of work she is committed to the Pets at Therapy and loves taking Isla her golden doodle to our local hospice
Karen has been a receptionist for many years and understands the importance of excellent customer service which is why you will always be greeted with a smile. Karen particularly loves the challenge of making anxious patients feel relaxed and confident and loves seeing the end results of our patients’ journey to get their perfect smile.
In her spare time, she is kept busy with her grandchildren as well as her 2 dogs, Barney & Lilly.
